Windows 7 volume control

Free office software

If you want to grab some free office software then you can't go far wrong with these. Open Office has been around for many years and goes through a constant mode of development and importantly it is compatible with Microsoft file formats. Also Kingsoft office offers the same compatibility with a familiar office layout and what's more, Kingsoft office is available on Android too. The links are below:

A more secure computer : Change your DNS

You can make your internet experience more secure by routing your dns through Comodo rather than your isp. This may sound a little more complicated than it needs to be so take a look at the instructions at the link below. Basically once you use this your internet is filtered through servers that are checked for malware links etc.

Printing without a print button

Its frustrating when you just want to print something on the internet and you just can't find the print button. Thankfully there are a huge range of keyboard shortcuts and there is one to solve this problem too. All you need do is hold down 'CTRL' on your keyboard then tap the letter 'P' and release the 'CTRL' button, you should now have a the print options ready to go.

Get back the missing start menu in Windows 8

If you have bought a new pc with windows 8 or upgraded from vista or windows 7 you may be missing the start button and its menu. Unfortunately you can't just enable it. There are options though and free ones too.
